The cozy games I open when I can't sleep
Some nights I don't want a challenge. I want something quiet that lets my brain cool off, and over the years I've built up a small collection of games that do exactly that.
Tiny Harbor Town is top of the list lately. Building a fishing village at a gentle pace, with no way to lose, is oddly soothing. Lantern Hollow is the other one — a short adventure you can drift through without pressure.
The common thread is that none of these games punish you for putting them down. There's no energy draining away, no streak to protect. You open them, do a little something, and leave feeling calmer than when you started.
If you tend to doomscroll before bed, swapping that for ten minutes in a cozy game is a genuinely nice trade. Just maybe set an alarm, because 'one more fishing trip' is a real risk.
