Strategy
Ironhold Command
★★★★☆ 4.4
Ironhold Command is a strategy game with surprising depth for a phone. You're managing a frontier outpost, and it's not just about pumping out troops — supply routes, terrain, and weather all feed into whether your push succeeds or collapses halfway across the map.
It took me a couple of losses to stop playing it like a tap-to-win game. Once it clicked, I was pausing, planning, re-routing convoys. The pause-and-issue-orders system works beautifully with touch, and the campaign ramps difficulty at a fair pace.
There's a sandbox mode once you finish the story, which is where I've sunk most of my hours since. It's not the prettiest game on this list, but the systems underneath are the real draw.
What we liked
- Supply and terrain actually matter
- Pause-and-plan controls suit touch screens
- Deep sandbox mode for replay
