Emberfall Chronicles

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Emberfall Chronicles is the kind of RPG that respects your time but still gives you something to chew on. You build a party of four, each with their own quirks and arguments, and push through a branching story where decisions carry over between chapters. I made a call in the second act that quietly locked me out of an entire region, and honestly I loved that it held me to it.

Combat is turn-based with a timing twist — hit the window right and your attacks chain. It stays readable on a phone screen, which matters, because so many mobile RPGs cram the UI until you can't tell what's happening.

The writing is better than it needs to be. Side characters get real arcs, and the voice acting on the main cast is solid. My only gripe is that late-game grinding creeps in, but even then it never felt predatory.
